When it comes to collaboration, employees are more optimistic about social technologies than business leaders. Many businesses believe that they should ban these digital platforms altogether. Ricoh conducted research with 2,000 UK workers in December 2016, and we discovered that 44% of workers believe social technologies improve day to day collaboration. This disconnect is troubling, as it has resulted in some businesses denying their workforce a useful communication tool. For the full report, download below.

It seems as though business leadership has not caught up with employee optimism. 46% of workers polled could not access Facebook at work. In 34% of these workplaces Twitter was also blocked, and in 31% Instagram was also banned.  Digital dexterity is being denied to a workforce who associate social media with effective communication.
