Businesses across Europe may be failing to implement strategies that could simplify the way they cope with a changing digital climate.
A study by Ricoh, A new perspective: Ricoh Document Governance Index, uncovered that 57% of businesses across Europe do not currently have a developed and implemented strategy to manage their document processes. This figure is only four per cent higher than 2009. Without a strategy in place, businesses are left to manage documentation ad hoc until the external challenges become unmanageable. Yet when asked, 45% would recommend having a strategy for managing processes that is linked to their business objectives.
Some sectors are outperforming others, for example healthcare and public services are most likely to have nothing in place, whereas education and manufacturing are leading the way in having fully implemented strategies.
