There is a growing gap in technology used between the front and back office, Ricoh Document Governance Index has found.
Ricoh spoke to over 1000 business leaders across Europe, and found that investment in technology is focused on the front office client-facing activity, neglecting the needs of the back office, such as finance and marketing. The result is a failure of integration between the two.
The findings suggested an 11% gap between front and back office workers regarding smartphones provided by the business, and a 9% gap in tablet devices. As these technologies play an important role, the divide can result in a bottle neck in business critical document processes, and result in less security of data or efficiency.
It is critical that organisations operate an equal approach to technology investment to bring all business sectors in line.
